Whoops. That's not right! I would have expected NTSC-M for you.
Things to try (leave mythtv out of this for now, in fact make sure the
mythtv backend is not running when trying this):
1. Do cat /sys/class/pvrusb2/*/ctl_video_standard/enum_val - that should
give you a long list of possible video standards. Tell me what that
shows.
2. Do echo "NTSC-M" >/sys/class/pvrusb2/*/ctl_video_standard/cur_val -
that should force things to NTSC for you. You'll need to do ths one as
root.
After #2, cat the cur_val back and verify that the setting "took". If
it did, try mplayer again and see if things are any better.
Even if all of the above works, we still need to figure out why it
started with "none", but that should be a relatively easy thing to
understand (with the help of some other debug flags).
