[pvrusb2] Poor analog picture on HVR-1950 after upgrade to 2.6.28 kernel

Mike,
I checked cat /sys/class/pvrusb2/*/ctl_video_standard/cur_val and it
always read "none".
To clarify...
When I run mplayer, I get color picture , but cut-off on the right.
When I run mythtv I get vertical lines, faded color (almost B/W), and
cut-off on the right.
In both players then video standard reads "none".
