[pvrusb2] Can't get Hauppauge HVR-1950 to work

Please excuse my overenthusiasm here, I might be jumping to the wrong
conclusions. After playing for a long time, I got again the broken frames
error. I checked dmesg and I'm seeing this:
cx25840' 1-0044: 0x0000 is not a valid video input!

After resetting the media player and a couple of minutes later:
