Interesting point.  However he must have had the initusbreset workaround 
in place, because otherwise that bug never would have let the driver 
complete its initialization.  That's why I didn't consider the USB reset 
issue as being a cause here.  Dan: This is true right - that you had 
loaded the module with initusbreset=0, right?
