I was wrong!
I just ran the manual extraction procedure on the same Hauppauge driver
package (pvrusb2_inf_24117.zip) but this time I used it with a 29xxx
device. The device worked in Windows. And the extraction indeed found
the FX2 firmware for 29xxx devices. So this driver package works for
either type of device and it includes firmware for both. I'm updating
fwextract.pl now to recognize this and extract appropriately. I'm also
updating the web documentation to indicate that it's possible to actually
get both types of firmware from the same driver. I wonder now if I go
back to the older 24xxx driver package(s) if I'm going to discover the
same thing. Hmmm....
There will probably be a new standalone snapshot as well. No driver
fixes, but this is a pretty important fwextract.pl update and I also ended
up solving a few latent bugs in the decode_log utility along the way.
