[pvrusb2] back-end application

After following Mike Isley's excellent documentation and compiling the
kernel 2.6.18, I can see snow on screen with kaeffeine (fifo://)  and
mplayer (/dev/video). The led on the wintv lights up as well.

Now, my question is what is the best way to watch and use the system. From
reading the documentation, I gather xawtv-4.x is the best bet. However, I
have not been able to compile the snapshot (missing ./configure). Are there
other alternatives?
