I have to agree with Mike here.  I haven't even compiled a 2.4.x kernel 
here in roughly 2 years.  You're of course welcome to try to port the 
driver, and if you succeed I'll try to merge in your changes, but I think 
you are going to have one heck of a hill to climb.
