Hello everybody,
I'm trying to get this driver to work on a kubuntu 5.10 installation using
kernel-image 2.6.12-10-686.
I've extracted the firmware and put it into /lib/hotplug/firmware
I've downloaded and compiled the drivers:
make --directory ivtv
sudo make install --directory ivtv
make --directory driver
sudo make install --directory driver
I've even run depmod:
sudo depmod -a
But it doesn't work. Somehow I think the modules are not installed in the right
place. They are written to /lib/modules/2.6.12 wheras the normal modules for my
kernel lay in /lib/modules/2.6.12-10-686.
I tried to copy /lib/modules/2.6.12/pvrusb2 to /lib/modules/2.6.12-10-686.
After running "sudo depmod -a" again the output from "sudo modprobe pvrusb2"
changed from "FATAL: Module pvrusb2 not found" to "FATAL: Error inserting
pvrusb2 (/lib/modules/2.6.12-10-686/pvrusb2/pvrusb2.ko): Unknown symbol in
module, or unknown parameter (see dmesg)"
dmesg:
[4300445.665000] pvrusb2: disagrees about version of symbol
tveeprom_hauppauge_analog
[4300445.665000] pvrusb2: Unknown symbol tveeprom_hauppauge_analog
I read about installing kernelmodules the debian way with make-kpkg but couldn't
figure it out exactly.
Thank you for your help!
:-) Klemens
