It might not be too far off the mark.  I've been compiling a variation of 
the driver against the current V4L source tree and it compiles clean and 
runs well there - though I've still been testing against 2.6.15.  The V4L 
changes in 2.6.16-rcX came from this tree.

That's not to say there won't be any problems.
